From Self, to Something Bigger

This week in my youth group, I will be discussing one very important topic. One that many teens especially deal with. And that is the issue of self- worth, self-esteem, and how you view yourself.
I was asked, “Why did God create me the way I am”?

Psalm 139:13-14, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”

He made us. He loves us.

Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

He loved us so much. Even when we despised God and hated him, He chose to come and DIE for us.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

He wants us to take care of ourselves and to use our bodies to glorify our amazing, wonderful God!

Isaiah 54:10, “For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”

He has compassion on you. Mercy for you. Give yourself some grace. Trust in Him.

Deuteronomy 31:8, “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Isaiah 26:3-4, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”

You will make it through whatever you are struggling with. God made you for a purpose and you are his beautiful creation. Now, if you drew a piece of artwork, and it was beautiful. You were proud of it. You did an amazing job, and a good friend came along and told you how horrible and sloppy it is. How would that make you feel? It is the same thing with God. You are his master piece. Don’t dis God’s creation!
Don’t choose to focus on yourself, focus on God!
God loves you,
in HIM,
Emma Grace
