The Ever Changing Power of the Gospel

What is the gospel some ask? What is so amazing about it that it causes people to deny their fleshly desires in order to follow Jesus Christ? What happened to make such a vast difference in people’s lives? Well, that is what I am going to share with you today. Prepare your souls for something truly amazing and eye opening.

The problem lies within us. We are fallen beings. God created us with free will because he did not want you to be robots roaming the world and only doing what he commanded of you. He wanted you to choose to love him. For what is love if forced? All of us beings have a curse. Sin. Sin is anything that we think, say, or do that does not please God.

But there is an even bigger issue with sin. It separates from God. Our wonderful creator and friend. This is deeply crushing. This amazing God cares to know you and longs for your soul to love its creator in the same light. But sin crushes this relationship.

Sin’s penalty is death.

Romans 6:23 says (NASB), “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

The Bible teaches that there are three meanings to the word death here.

  • Spiritual death separates you from the personally intimate relationship that is possible between you and God (Ephesians 2:1).
  • Physical death which separates a person’s soul from their body (Hebrews 9:27)
  • Eternal death separates a person, after physical death, from God forever in hell (Revelation 20:15).

This grim outlook, if left where it is, would be horrifying. But, God had a solution. He IS God after all. You cannot gain acceptance into heaven. There is nothing you can physically do on this earth to earn a place in heaven. People throughout the ages have tried to do just this, and they are now in hell. They could not come to grips with the fact that salvation is a wonderful gift (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Titus 3:5a says, “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy”.

Money, good works, religion, and morality will not find you a place in heaven. Christ paid our debt. The reason that Christ could pay our penalty was because he was perfect. Only a perfect person could have paid the debt. He took our place.

You must receive Jesus as OUR Lord and savior. You must repent of your sins, put your trust in Jesus alone.

Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved”.

God’s promise is eternal life.

A just judge has to have the debt paid. You have the choice to accept and believe what Jesus’ did on the cross covered your debt and live in Heaven for eternity, or you can pay your own debt in an eternity in hell.

If you have more questions, I would recommend checking out Living Waters Ministries on youtube or their website. They explain things very clearly and well. Feel free to comment below how the gospel is currently changing your life or any questions you may have.

Love you all! Have a beautiful day! xoxo ❤

I’m not sure what that has to do with this article, but I have one simple question for you here. Is God a Gini? No. He is an almighty creator God who doesn’t owe you anything. He is also in control. He is working things for the best, and you have to trust that.

Emma, this is not related to this article. Does God separate us from our best friends and family when we die? I consider you more than a friend you are like my sister and without you, I am not my normal self because I talk less when you are not there. You are my inspiration! 🙂
